Ministries @ ORPC

Worship

Worship is at the heart of Christian discipleship. At ORPC, we seek to honour God’s name with faithful and reverential worship.

In our weekly services (9am and 6pm), our worship ministry leads us in expressing our worship as a collective body through our spiritual gifts. As we worship and glorify God, we are strengthened in our discipleship so we may be sent out as His disciplemakers.

Come serve with us in the AM Chancel Choir, PM Worship Choir and Band, Music Makers’ Club (children’s and youth choir), as a musician (orchestra, piano, band, organ), as an usher, a scripture reader, or as part of the audio-visual crew.

Discipleship groups

At ORPC, we understand Christian discipleship as learning to follow Jesus Christ. And following Jesus Christ is not easy – disciples renounce all and make Jesus Lord of their lives.

Here at ORPC, Discipleship Groups (DGs) are the core to disciple-making. In our DGs, we anchor each other in the Word, help each other to live out the gospel, and to mature in our faith. The DG is every member’s primary spiritual family, forming the centre of ORPC’s pastoral care, fellowship, and ministry to each other.

Our DGs are varied in composition, with groups that are formed from those in the same life stage, gender-specific groups, and those with members across different generations. DGs in ORPC typically meet twice a month (about once every two weeks) to share about their spiritual life, daily life, and to study and apply God’s Word to both. The pastoral care of the DG is under the care of a Zone Pastor.

If you are new to us and would like to find out more about joining a DG, please fill in the form on the right.

Life Stage Ministries

Children

Our creche ministry (0-2YO) and children’s Sunday School (3-12YO) run on Sundays 9am concurrently with our AM service.

Creche (0-2YO) and Junior Sunday School (3-8YO) are on Dunman L2. Senior Sunday School (9-12YO) are in Dunman Basement.

Youth

The Youth Ministry is an age-specific transition ministry, and it seeks to serve both churched and unchurched youths aged 13 to 19 years old. It is led by youths and supported by adult and young adult mentors who care deeply for the young by discipling them in God’s word and by providing a significant adult presence in their lives.

Youth Bible Study and Fellowship are held after the 9AM service (10.30AM – 12N) on the first 3 weeks of each other.

Young Adults

Young adulthood is a time of many changes and many beginnings. Discipleship in young adulthood involves considering the life pathways ahead of us and how we can walk in faith as we embark upon our adult journeys. In ORPC, we disciple young adults (20 – 30 years old) through Bible study, fellowship, prayer, and service. At our meetings we have heart-to-heart talks, we grapple with applying and living out the Word in the world, we encourage each other to live according to Christ’s will in every way possible.

YA Bible Study and Fellowship are held after the 9AM service (11AM – 12N) on the first 3 weeks of each other.

Fellowship and Care

Prayer

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

We meet on the 1st Wednesday of every month (except public holidays, then 2nd Wednesday instead) as a church to pray together.

Congregational Fellowship

We aim to bring members together to encourage and support each other in their path to spiritual maturity as children of God.

We hope to strengthen relationships in a trusting environment to promote learning, fellowship, and sharing.

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Hebrews 10:24-25

Equip

School of Christian Ministry

The School of Christian Ministry (SoCM) is a platform for continuing learning to help church members grow in faith and to equip them to serve effectively in the church community and to make Christ known to the world.

The SoCM Sunday Classes are regular teaching sessions on Sundays designed to deepen members’ understanding of the Bible and to give them a foundation in sound doctrine and theology. The classes are opportunities to learn, think, and share about who God is, who Jesus is, what has He done for us and how we should live as Christians.

SoCM classes are held on the 4th Sunday of each month (except June and December) after the AM service (10.30AM – 11.30AM).

Leaders’ Equipping and Training

Leaders’ Equipping & Training Sessions are geared towards providing relevant and sound Christian education to equip church members to serve one another in the Church community and to live out their faith in effective and faithful ministry. All ministry leaders (including DG leaders) attend this monthly training.
