Christ Is Risen

Christ Is Risen

By Not Known

Today, we celebrate Easter. The resurrection of Jesus Christ means the victory of our Christian faith, as this is the fulfilment of the Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah. We, the followers of Jesus Christ, believe in this, and are thankful for His death and resurrection. We understand that these two important events determine Christianity and our journey of faith. These two events are two sides of the same coin that hold the amazing theological truth; the death of Christ is His act of obedience to God’s love in saving the fallen human race from sin and its wages, which is God’s wrath and eternal death. The resurrection of Christ is proof that His obedience led to victory over death! ‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.’ ‘Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?’ (1 Cor. 15:54b-55)
The resurrection of Christ proves that He is the Lord, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the TRUTH. The apostle Paul says that if Christ had not been raised, our preaching would have been useless and so would have been our faith. More than that, we would have then been found to be false witnesses about God, for we had testified about God that He had raised Christ from the dead. Moreover, if Christ had not been raised, our faith would have been futile; we would have been still in our sins (1 Cor. 15:14-15, 17). With the resurrection of Christ, however, the Gospel is ‘“Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.’ (2 Cor. 1:20) That is the reason Jesus commanded His disciples, as well as us, to ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.’ (Mark 16:15-16)
The resurrection of Christ gives us the assurance that behind death, there is life. Jesus Himself emphasises this: I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die. (John 11:25)
With the resurrection of Christ, there is assurance that those who believe in Him will also be resurrected and receive eternal life. Therefore, let us live our life to the fullest with faith, hope and love because the resurrected Christ is able to transform us. Amen!
Christ the Lord Is Risen Today
Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
Who did once upon the cross, Alleluia!
Suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia!
Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!
Unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia!
Who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!
Sinners to redeem and save. Alleluia!
