What causes Isaiah to rejoice in the Lord?

How does Jesus summarise his mission? How does it relate to the promise God has made to David?

We believe the promise mentioned in vv12–16 is partly fulfilled in David’s son, King Solomon, and partly fulfilled in Jesus. How does Jesus fulfil this part of scripture?  

In this passage, how many things does God promise to do? (Hint: Look for the clause ‘I will’.) Which of them are good news to David?  

Identify the ‘who’, ‘what’ and ‘when’ in God’s response to David with regard to the building of a home for the ark. Which of the objections seems the most important in God’s response?

Both David and God talk about a ‘house of cedar’. What does that mean (especially in comparison with a tent)?
