After the mighty king’s sudden death, his dynasty was subsequently divided from four to two kingdoms. Describe their ways of overcoming conflicts between the kings of the North (Syria) and South (Egypt).

Describe the success and failure (v2) of the fourth king of the Medes Persia kingdom. What happened to the mighty king and his dynasty (vv3-4)?

Through this vision, what did Daniel learned about the spiritual warfare (also read v14)? What do we learned about spiritual warfare and how does God help us in spiritual warfare (Eph 6:10-20)?

What did Daniel experience in this vision and how did it strengthen him? As we face our daily challenges, how does God strengthen our spiritual and physical being?

What was Daniel praying (v12)? What did God do when the enemy tried to block Daniel from praying (vv12-14)? What have you learned about prayer in verses 10-14?

How did the vision affect Daniel and those around him? Why do you think the voice of this glorious man had helped Daniel (vv8-9)?

What encouragement did Daniel receive through this glorious vision (vv4-6) in his time of sadness (vv2-3)? When was the last time you received God’s encouragement or exhortation? How did it affect you?

What had caused Daniel to mourn? Why? What had he done in his mourning?(v3) Have you mourned after you received a heart wrenching message from the Lord? If not, why not?

Verse 26 states that ‘the people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary’. The Romans destroyed Jerusalem and its temple in AD70. Based on v27, how would you describe the course of events during the period of sevens?

In v24 Gabriel mentioned six things that would happen to the people of Israel and the holy city of Jerusalem within seventy weeks. What do you think these things mean, individually and collectively?
