John is reiterating again that being loving is a result of our love for God. Identify someone whom you believe needs your loving care this week and find the opportunities to share your love with him/her.

How does “testing the spirits” help us to uncover false prophets in this world?  What does John teaches about how we may “test the spirits?”

John emphasises that asking God in prayer has to be aligned with doing whatever pleases Him.  How does this work in reality?

According to John here, how does one truly love as God loves us?
