2 Tim 3:16-17

What are the 4 purposes which Scripture is useful for? Do we use the Scriptures for these purposes today? What should be the end result when we use God’s word correctly?

2 Tim 3:10-11

In 2 Tim 3:10-11, Paul asserted that Timothy had not only heard him teach, he had also seen his way of life, his purpose, faith, patience, love and endurance, even persecutions and sufferings. What do these words tell us about Christian discipleship?

2 Tim 3:7

Paul uses a striking phrase: “always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.” What does this imply? Could you become like this too? (Compare 3:14 “learned and become convinced of..”)

Judges 16:20-29

Notice how Samson’s life ended: i) loss of the Lord’s presence v 20,  and ii) the loss of his life 26-30.  How can you avoid ending your life tragically like Samson?

Three times Delilah tried to persuade Samson to reveal the secret of his great strength. Why do you think he continued toying with her?

Samson was the only judge without an army.  All his exploits were performed alone.  What does this tell you about the moral and spiritual condition of Israel?
