The angel gave an announcement and an instruction. What were they?  

Whom did they see “on the right side” inside the tomb? How did this affect the women? (v 8)  

What was the first thing they saw when they arrived at the tomb?  If you had been there, what would you have thought and felt?

What was uppermost in the women’s minds as they went to the tomb where Jesus was laid?  What is the overall response of the women who went to the tomb?  

In grief, Peter remembered that Jesus had anticipated his denials.  How did he feel at this point?  What would you have done had you been Peter?  

Peter denied Jesus three times.  In what circumstances might you be tempted to be ashamed of Jesus or deny him?  

When they finally condemn Jesus to death, what was the actual charge?  Did such a charge deserve death?  

What were the charges brought against Jesus?  Why did he remain silent (v 61)?  

Peter who had just fled from Jesus in the Garden (see 14.50) now follows at a distance.  What do you think Peter is thinking and feeling at that moment?  Have you felt similar tension?  

What is your overall impression of the proceedings?  Does it speak of justice?
