Col 2:9-10
“In Christ we have fullness” says Paul. How is Christ described in these verses? What does this mean for you in practical terms?
Col 2:8
Gives us the first glimpse of the heresy infiltrating the Colossian church. What was wrong with this false teaching?
Col 2:7
How do the words ‘rooted, built up, strengthened and overflowing” help you to picture true spiritual growth. Are these words true of you?
Col 2:6-19
Paul questions the Colossians about the foolish human additions they are making to what they already have in Christ. How could his have happened?
Col 2:2-5
List some spiritual qualities which Paul desired for the Colossians. Can you see these qualities in yourself? Pray that you will not be enticed by “fine-sounding arguments” which would distract you from full commitment to Christ.
Col 1:28
Paul struggled, even agonized to present everyone perfect or mature in Christ. This is the ultimate goal of every believer. Would you describe yourself as “mature in Christ”? If so, praise God. If not, what can you do to keep moving towards this Biblical goal?

What does it mean to have “Christ in you”?

What was the mystery which represents the “word of God in its fullness”? Why would this mystery be startling to both Jews and Gentiles?

Paul had become a servant of the church by presenting the word of God in its fullness. Read 2 Cor 11:23-28 for a list of afflictions he had suffered. Would you be wiling to do the same for the Gospel? Why or why not?
