Col 1:22-23

What emotions do the words “reconciled”, “holy in His sight”, “without blemish” and “free from accusation” evoke in you? What are the daily implications of being so blessed in Christ?

Col 1:19

This verse tells us important truths about Jesus, and what he has achieved for us. What are they? What price had to be paid for reconciliation to take place? What price are we willing to pay in order for others to be reconciled to God in Christ?

Col 1:18

“Separate the church as a body from Christ as the head and it becomes a lifeless institution.” (Johnston). What does it mean that Christ is “the head of the body, the church”?  Is He head over ORPC? How can you tell?

Col 1:16-17

We have far greater scientific and cosmological information today than in Paul’s life.  How do our current discoveries through microscopes and telescopes enhance our understanding of Jesus as supreme over creation?

Col 1:3-6

What is Paul thankful for?  Are we thankful for similar things? Or is our thankfulness centred mostly on material/financial gains?

Col 1:1-2

Paul has probably written this letter from prison. Would you have started a letter so positively if you were writing from prison?
