God responded positively to the Israelites’ complaints, yet He wanted to test them. What do you think God was trying to teach them through this episode? What can we learn from it?

Review the passage. How does this knowledge of God’s character and past faithfulness encourage you in the new year?

Compare the time of captivity in Egypt versus their present situation in the desert. Do you think Egypt was as plentiful as they remembered it?    

These verses show the promise that God will lead His people into His holy dwelling. How does this tie in with the promise found in Romans 5:10?

Why would \”the nations hear and tremble\”? Do you think that there a way out for these nations? If there is, what do you think it might be?

This passage contains Israel’s praises to God for what He has done for them at the Red Sea and what He will surely do for them in future. Take time to think about your song of praise to God. What would the lyrics contain?

God has entrusted us to pass on the gospel to faithful people.  Let’s learn to be responsible for what we have been entrusted to do.

We make progress in our Christian walk by persevering in following Christ and learning from those who have taught us and led us in godly living.  Learn to walk as well as to live by example.

The hope for the next generation lies in what we do to teach God’s word and to disciple future generations.  Let’s commit to giving a strong foundation to the next generation.

The call of the risen Christ is for His followers to make disciples of all people groups through the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom.  What would your vision be for 2014?
