Read the same verses as above. Why do you think historically persecution accomplishes the opposite of what the governments intended? What does this show us about God?  

How did the Egyptians make the Israelites suffer? What was the Israelites’ situation under a king who had forgotten Joseph’s role in saving the country? (cf. Genesis 41)

Why did the new king of Egypt in the 3rd generation after Joseph become hostile towards the Israelites? What did the king fear?

Was it in God’s plan for these Israelites to move out of the Promised Land to Egypt? What does this tell us about how God works in our lives and in the world? (cf. Genesis 45:7; 46:1-4)

A person is lying to himself and everyone else when he says he knows and loves God, but does not keep God’s commandments. In what ways do we show God’s love by keeping His commandments?

The Gospel is God’s power to save everyone who believes. Have you been baptized into Jesus’ death, and been raised with Him to walk in the newness of life? 

God says that man has a sin problem, but man often denies it. Are we deceiving ourselves by not confessing our sins to God?

We are to be ready to give a defence to everyone who asks us for a reason for the hope that is in us. How may we share our story of salvation with others? 

When we do not know God’s word, false doctrines of men will arise. Do you read the Bible regularly to find out for yourself what God is saying?

Jesus has personally paid the price for our sins so that we may be righteous before God. How will you share this eternal hope of God’s salvation with others?
