Mark 10:39-40

The “cup” and “baptism” were cited by Jesus here as references to his persecution and execution. Like James and John, are we really ready to go through sufferings for Christ?

John and James went to Jesus with their request for honoured places in Christ’s kingdom. On reflection, what is our own attitude in following Christ?

Read the same verses as above. Both marriage and celibacy are calls from God to live as people belonging to God. Do you seek the Lord and rely on His grace in your state of life?

The dissolution of the marriage covenant between believers is never God’s ideal. In what ways can faithfulness in marriage serve as a metaphor for the relationship between the believer and Jesus Christ?
