In your own words, paraphrase Jesus’ definition of power and greatness in the Kingdom of God.

Observe the disciples’ response, what do you think they are starting to fight about?

What was Jesus’ answer to their question? What was Jesus trying to say to them?

Observe the attitude that James and John had towards Jesus. Are we guilty of the same presumptuous attitude towards our Lord?

Why did Jesus say that he would die? Was it comfortable for the disciples to hear? Why was it necessary for them to hear it?

Having read till verse 31, how do you then explain the difference between following rules and following Jesus?

What are the forms of ‘wealth’ that you treasure other than money? Have these form of ‘wealth’ prevented you from truly following Jesus?

Why do you think Jesus told the rich young man to sell what he had?
