Was God blind and deaf to Habakkuk’s situation? What did God demand of the righteous in situations of injustice? Pray that we may live by faith in God’s promises and not by our myopic sight.

What attributes of the wicked did Habakkuk also recognise in his prayer? Do you struggle with similar wickedness today? Pray for disenfranchised people in our society that they may not be drawn towards devious and destructive means to meet their ends.

What attributes of God did Habakkuk recognise in his prayer? Why did he struggle to reconcile his situation with God’s character? Pray for areas in your work where you are faced with constant temptation to exercise partiality and play politics. Ask God to help you to be courageous to act otherwise.

When God did not seem to do anything in his situation, what conclusions did Habakkuk draw? How would you have felt if God had done nothing in your situation? Pray for law enforcement bodies in this country, namely the police and the courts, that integrity and justice are upheld to a highest degree in their work.

What do you think Habakkuk expected God to do in his situation? Were his expectations reasonable? What would you have expected? Pray against violence in various parts of the world where people and political group-clashes are daily norms, claiming precious lives and creating suffering.

What does Habakkuk’s prayer tell us about his situation? When was the last time you felt this way towards God? Why? Pray for those who feel trapped by situations that have robbed their trust in God’s goodness and love. Ask God to protect their relationships with him.

What did the Psalmist testify about God in his praise song? What will you praise God for everyday of your life? Pray for yourself and your family as you prepare to worship God tomorrow. Uphold our Sunday school teachers and our preacher that they will teach well.

What did Hannah testify about God in her prayer of praise and thanksgiving? What do you praise God for today? Uphold those who are sick and suffering that they may continue to trust God and not look elsewhere for relief in times of great pain and sorrow.

Hannah honoured her promise to God concerning her son. Was it an easy promise to fulfil? What did it require from Hannah? Intercede for those who are battling various forms of addiction: gaming, gambling, drug, smoking, etc. Pray for their renewal of heart and mind.

What was it that gave Hannah almost immediate comfort after praying intensely? How was the naming of Samuel significant to her? Pray for those who are on holidays that they will be good Christian witnesses wherever they are, and to be wise as they seek various enjoyment.
