How do you “guard yourself in your spirit” and not “break faith” (v16)? 

What had neglecting the house of God taught Judah in the past (cf. 13:11, Haggai 1:4-11)?  What lessons can we learn from this today?

What else could compromise a struggling community of faith as much as mixed marriage in ancient Israel?  What could you or your small group do to express your grief over that threat or sin? 

How often are your prayers unanswered due to unconfessed sin or a wrong heart attitude toward the Lord or others?           

How should our past help us live as God’s people with mercy as we relate towards one another?
