What does Paul encouraged Christians to pursue, fight for and lay hold of?

What is of great gain to a Christian? We also observed in  Phil 4:11-13 that Paul  have learned of this great gain through circumstances he has faced, what about us?

Why do you think Paul is trying to say in these two verses about a Christian’s attitude towards life? How do we apply this into our own lives?

What were the single and double honour to which Paul referred?

What did Paul encouraged the church to do? Why should the church seek to help those in need? What is the purpose of the list (v16)?

Timothy have been taught to practice his gifts in ministry.  He needs to do the right things at the appropriate time with the people he is ministering to.  What may we learn from this?

Devotion is emphasised.  How may we devote ourselves to God’s word?  

Timothy was probably in his 30s at the time of this letter.  How may younger people be examples in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity? 

What does it mean to be a good servant of Jesus Christ?  How do we put into practice what Paul is exhorting Timothy to do?
